About Georgia Obenaus Photography

Georgia Obenaus was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Photography has been a lifetime interest for her. As a child she recalls going on school field trips and using all of her film photographing people on the bus before even arriving anywhere.

Her dog was also usually a willing subject, but the cat often needed coaxing. Georgia would hide under the table and wait for the cat to look over the edge—click! (Works every time!)

Today, as a resident of Chesapeake since 1986, Georgia's favorite subjects are still people, especially her husband, their 3 children and, of course, the family cat.

Georgia says most people don’t realize that they can get portraits with real character and personality. They either buy the ones that “aren’t so bad” or they just don’t know the difference. Experience the difference with Georgia Obenaus Photography.

Georgia was recently featured on "With This Ring" where she provided tips for people hiring a wedding photographer. You can see the video here. In addition to her photography work, Georgia also involved in dog rescue programs. Most recently she has worked with the Animal Assistance League and K9 New Life.
